In The Storm Sister, Ally’s story, she tells Ma about the Hero concert that she will be taking part of in December. It was written by Pip, who dedicated it to Karine. He never got to preform it as both of them unfortunately died during WW2. Felix, their son and Ally’s father, finished the work and was taking part in the performance in 2007. Uniting Thom, Ally and Felix to preform Pip’s masterpiece.
In the interval of the concert, Star and Ma goes to take a drink with Theo’s parents. Ma then says that she wishes her other sisters could also have seen Ally perform. And her father of course. She then looks concerned, furrowing her brow. Star then thought of what secrets she could be hiding, and the toll it took on her.
As mentioned before, I believe Bo is Pa Salt. Bo and Elle were very close to Pip and Karine, and Pip saved them by taking them all to Norway after Bo’s Leipzig accommodation was set on fire and he jumped out of the window, damaging his arm.
THEORY
Marina told Pa Salt about the concert after Ally told her on the phone. The hero concert meant a lot to Pa Salt, because of his relationship to Pip and Karine. I am sure he and Elle felt terrible when they learned about the faith of their dear friends. Pa Salt did not want to miss the premiere of his friend’s masterpiece. Especially as his beloved daughter Ally would play in it as well. I think he took the risk and was indeed in the auditorium. Marina was worried that he would be seen. He had not expected Star to still sit there after the show ended, so she surprised him and he ran away, hoping she did not see him.
I am not sure whether Pa Salt is still alive when they all board the cruise another 6 months after this, but I do believe that he did not die in June 2007.
I think they kept him in the cellar, and that he might have been terribly ill, and having the sisters all search for their heritage and gather them on the cruise was his last wish, or long held dream. Maybe the plan was that he would survive until the cruise happened, but that he did not make it for some reason? This could explain why Georg was so distressed and absent during the last few weeks. I think something unexpected happened with Pa Salt, and that he might be dead, or close to, in June 2008 when they all meet on the cruise. I think this probably needs its own post 🙂

Fully agree with you there are to may things that point towards him not having died in 2007 – Ally hears him on the phone (100% sure it’s not just voice message as she also says she heard a click in the line), Tiggy feeling he’s still alive, Star seeing him at the concert which goes had in hand with Ma being worried when the conversation in the break comes to would have been great if the other sisters and Pa Salt would have been here as well, and let’s be honest he would not have wanted to miss that concert. CeCe seeing him at the airport, again I’m pretty sure it was Pa but what he was doing in Heathrow then no clue (could the timeline match that he was on his way to/from the concert? Most likely more too as I think CeCe couldn’t make it cause she was already gone. And even Electra smelled him in the car in Paris (also why would the car and Christin randomly be in Paris at the same time as she is there – strange coincident). Further Maia being gone when he died another coincidence to much. Ma sometimes not answering the phone – very unlike her, the life and hidden cellar behind the wine racks that is yet to be explored.
Last but not least I think something was going not according to plan in the end if it’s him actually dying or the cover (why was he bidding in the first place Ezus? – what was triggered by kreggs death? This seems to be the starting point for the whole mystery) being blown. Both Claudia and Georg are busy, she apparently caring for a Sick relative – not sure I believe that – and he being super mysterious and not reachable for anyone which is also against what he said at the beginning and the picture I got from him. So something must be up in the end. Do we know what this asshole of Zed is doing around May/June 2008? Could he be the reason for all the stress?
